I would firstly like to begin by thanking you in all sincerity, for taking the time to read this-I understand life is all consuming, and your personal time is precious, so thank you.
Secondly, I would like to introduce myself.
My name is Nicole, I live in North Queensland, Australia-A beautiful part of the world literally bordered by The Great Barrier Reef and Tropical Rainforest-for this, I am grateful.
I am a nurse.
A profession that has irreversibly changed my perceptions of life in general. It is a career that has tested me, in so many complicated ways and has taught me many things-Gratitude, patience and impatience, compassion and disregard, acceptance and non-acceptance-but mostly, the importance of self care.
I am blessed to have two beautiful boys.
A teenager and an almost teenager-THEY also, have irreversibly changed who I am as a person-I guess if I’m truly honest, I never expected THAT to happen to the extent that it has. Witnessing their precious souls evolve is a truly humbling experience. At times, the requirement for endless selflessness can render resentment with the consequential guilt imposing an unnerving vulnerability-and then, just like that, everything changes as they flee into the depths of their own lives.
-until the day I die they will be my greatest achievement.
My husband-I love you more than all the grains of sand, on all the beaches in the world, to the power of ten, multiplied by infinity-Thank you for saving me.
And now that I’ve made this sound like an obituary, I may as well add a confession-am I in Church today?-I mean seriously!
I would like to take this opportunity to confess the following:
This is roughly my sixth attempt at an About Page since my Blogs Birth!
I have written some total garbage-on more than one occasion, but now, I am confident and proud, that I have finally found the courage to be me.
I would love to inspire you to do the same.
Be brave, be imperfect, be honest, be raw, be vulnerable, be controversial-lean over the precipice and challenge your limits.
Thanks for your time, I look forward to reading your blogs.
