Cycling from Cairo to Cape Town-UPDATE-Stage 24-1/11

MORE HORRENDOUS ROADS

image

‘Day 23 and 24 have been absolutely savage. Rough rocky sandy loose roads on road bikes has knocked the hell out of us. We have done way less miles but have got through the worst that has been thrown at us so far. It’s a tough place southern Tanzania but one step closer after getting through the worst of it’-Mark Blewett

The rotten dirt roads continue.

Word out of the camp indicates it’s cost them valuable time.

Let’s hope they can make it up when they hit the sealed roads of Zambia.

Tanzania appears to be one big lump of red dirt!!

Southern Tanzania has been tough going. Imagine riding 'roads' like these on a road bike?! It's the worst that's been thrown at the team so far. It slowed them down for a couple of days but they're through it now. Hopefully they'll make better progress today!
